Can I receive a written offer for a seminar?

Can I book a certification exam without a seminar?

In principle, we only offer certification examinations in conjunction with a seminar.

If you only wish to book a certification examination, we recommend that you do this directly via our certification body: www.isqi.org

When do I receive an early bird discount?

If you book a seminar up to 60 days before the seminar date, we will grant you a 10% early bird discount on the regular seminar price.

Seminar dates for which the early bird discount is currently valid are marked with a corresponding symbol.

What does "guaranteed dates" mean?

Unfortunately, we cannot actually hold every seminar date we offer, depending on how many registrations we have for the respective seminar date, among other things.

Seminar dates which we guarantee to hold are given a so-called "date guarantee". Seminar dates for which the date guarantee applies are marked with a corresponding symbol.

In what form can a certification exam be taken?

We always offer the option of taking a certification exam after a seminar (if one is available for the seminar topic in question).

The certification exams can be taken in the following ways:

• Online/Remote: The participant takes the exam at any time on their computer at work or at home.
• Exam center: The participant takes the exam at a PearsonVue exam center at any time after the seminar.

How does an online exam work?

If you would like to take a certification exam after a seminar, you can take it as an online exam after the seminar.

The procedure is as follows:

1. You book a live online seminar with certification exam.
2. We register you with the examination center for the online exam on the first day of the online seminar.
3. The examination center will contact you and clarify the details with you, in particular the date for the exam. By default, the language of the examination is German and there is no extension of the examination time. Please let the examination center know if you would like a different language or an extension of the examination time.
4. After completing the online seminar, you can then take the online exam on the date agreed with the examination center.

When is there an examination time extension?

If you are taking an exam in a language that is not your native language, you have the option of requesting an extension to the exam time. If you are taking an online exam, you must indicate your request when you register for the exam. You must provide proof of your request for an extension, e.g. a passport.

The duration of the examination time extension depends on the duration of the examination, e.g. the examination time extension is 15 minutes for a regular examination duration of 60 minutes.

In which language can a certification exam be taken?

The certification exams are held either in German or English. Once we have registered your participation in the exam with the exam provider, you must confirm your wish when registering for the exam.

If the certification language is not your native language, you have the option of extending the examination time.

How often can I retake a certification exam?

In principle, you have one attempt at each certification examination. If you fail the exam, you can retake the exam at any time for a fee.

When you place your order, you have the option of booking the 2TRY additional option. This allows you to take the exam a second time if you fail the first attempt.

What are the requirements for a certification exam?

All ISTQB seminars except ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level): A valid certificate for the ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) is a prerequisite for taking the exam.

For the following certification exams there are formal requirements for participation in a certification exam:

• ISTQB Certified Tester (Advanced Level) - Test Manager: a valid certificate for the ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) is a prerequisite for taking the exam. In addition, 18 months of relevant professional experience must be confirmed - this can either be provided in theform of a curriculum vitae or viathis form. Please bring the completed form with you to the exam.
• ISTQB Certified Tester (Advanced Level) - Test Analyst: A valid ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) certificate is required to take the exam. In addition, 18 months of relevant professional experience must be confirmed - this can either be provided in the form of a curriculum vitae or viathis form. Please bring the completed form with you to the exam.
• ISTQB Certified Tester - Test Automation Engineer: A valid ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) certificate is required to take the exam. In addition, 18 months of relevant professional experience must be confirmed - this can either be provided in the form of a curriculum vitae or viathis form. Please bring the completed form with you to the exam.

For all other certification examinations offered, there are no formal requirements for participation in a certification examination.

Participation in a seminar is not a prerequisite for any of the certification examinations offered. However, we would recommend attending a seminar, as participants are intensively prepared for the respective examinations in the seminars.

What are the regulations for ISTQB exam questions?

Here you will find the most important regulations on exam questions for ISTQB Certified Tester seminars. The regulations are taken from the currently valid "Exam Structure and Rules" of the ISTQB/GTB, the current version can be found on the GTB website. In any case, the regulations according to the official regulations of the ISTQB/GTB apply. The information provided here is merely an informative summary and we cannot guarantee its accuracy.

Learning objectives and cognitive levels:

• Specific learning objectives are defined in each syllabus.
• Each learning objective is assigned one of the following cognitive levels ("K-level"):
  • K1: Recall
  • K2: Understand
  • K3: Apply
  • K4: Analyze
• A "Foundation" level syllabus defines learning objectives for K levels K1 to K3, while an "Advanced" level syllabus defines learning objectives for K levels K1 to K4. All syllabuses define keywords at K-Level K1.
• In principle, all learning objectives and all definitions of the keywords in a syllabus can be tested in an examination.

Structure of the examination questions:

• An exam consists of a set of multiple-choice questions.
• Each exam question is assigned to exactly one learning objective or definition.
• The higher the learning objective of an exam question, the more time is required to read and answer it (usually between one and four minutes).

Awarding of points:

• An examination at the "Foundation" level generally contains 40 examination questions from K-Levels K1 to K3, with one point being awarded for each examination question (i.e. generally a maximum of 40 points).
• An examination at the "Advanced" training level contains up to 65 examination questions from K levels K1 to K4, whereby one to three points can be achieved for each examination question - depending on its level of difficulty.
• To pass an exam, at least 65% of the possible points must be achieved.
• If the answer to the examination question is incorrect, 0 points are awarded. If the examination question is answered correctly, the points allocated to the examination question are awarded.
• Partial points are not awarded.

Can I redeem my education voucher from the employment agency?

No, we do not accept education vouchers from the employment agency.
