Global Aviation Conference: TestSolutions Receives Aviation Digital Transformation Award

Global Aviation Conference: TestSolutions Receives Aviation Digital Transformation Award

At the Global Aviation Conference in Frankfurt, TestSolutions received the Aviation Digital Transformation Award. The award recognizes our contribution to digital transformation in the aviation industry. Our Managing Director, Vittorio Monteiro, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Aviation runs on tested systems

Our conference motto sums up what drives us: “Aviation runs on tested systems.” When airlines and airports digitize their processes, they must be able to rely on the software they use. New features, interconnected systems, and automated workflows require quality assurance that is built in from the very beginning.

This is exactly where we come in. We help companies set up testing processes, detect errors early on, and reliably further develop digital applications.

For us, the Aviation Digital Transformation Award is a special recognition of this work.

The AI Panel

In addition to the award, we are particularly pleased with the positive response to our panel presentation. Florian Fieber, Chief Process Officer at TestSolutions, shared his experience in software quality assurance during the panel discussion titled “Digitalization and AI in Airline Operations: From Data Foundations to Real-world ROI.”

The panel discussion centered on a specific question: How can data and artificial intelligence be integrated into airline operations in a way that delivers measurable benefits? This requires not only suitable technologies but also reliable data, coordinated processes, and quality assurance that verifies results in a traceable manner. We described the technical framework in our conference preview. AI is a non-deterministic system—the rigid result spaces of older testing approaches simply won’t work here.

As part of the awards ceremony, there was also a vote regarding the panel presentations. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who voted for TestSolutions and thereby expressed their confidence in us.

Equally valuable were the discussions with the participants: about current challenges in aviation, digital transformations, and the question of how reliable systems can support this development. The conference offered us the opportunity to exchange perspectives and engage in dialogue with one another.

Cocktail Party

At our cocktail party on the first evening of the conference, the exchange continued in a relaxed atmosphere. With a TestSolutions gin and tonic in hand, we had the opportunity to delve deeper into the day’s discussions, make new connections, and toast the award together. Many thanks to all our guests who enriched the evening with their perspectives, questions, and engaging conversations.

Five Key Areas for Reliable Airline IT

The five technical focus areas of our conference presentation demonstrate how our motto translates into practice:

  • Airline Retailing: New offer and order models must integrate with existing core systems. That’s why we examine the entire process chain—from the initial offer through booking and payment to rebookings and the delivery of booked services. Interfaces and partner integrations are explicitly part of this.
  • Test Data Management with a Focus on PNR: Realistic tests require diverse booking scenarios and process states. At the same time, data privacy and data quality must be safeguarded. Our proprietary solution for managing and providing PNR test data addresses this challenge.
  • Global Test Factory: Testing services that span countries and locations require clear responsibilities, common standards, and transparent results. This enables teams to align their testing capacities with releases, migrations, and transformation programs.
  • AI-Supported Test Automation: AI can help derive test cases, generate test data, and maintain automated tests. Domain expertise remains with humans: They assess risks, contribute domain knowledge, and verify the results.
  • Testing AI-Based Systems: When the same input can yield different results, comparing it to a fixed target value is insufficient. Clear quality criteria, representative test scenarios, and repeated testing are required to evaluate result quality, robustness, and potential biases. This allows for a transparent assessment of whether an AI system meets the requirements of its specific application in the airline environment.

These topics are united by a common goal: to ensure that changes in complex airline system landscapes are implemented in such a way that new functions and existing processes work together reliably.

A Success for the Entire Team

Our Managing Director, Vittorio Monteiro, accepted the Aviation Digital Transformation Award on behalf of TestSolutions. Behind this award lies the work of many colleagues who contribute to our achievements with their expertise and dedication.

“This award recognizes our entire team and our work on reliable airline software. After all, digital transformation requires systems you can trust.”

-- Christian Knoop, CEO of TestSolutions

We would therefore like to thank the entire team: the people who take on responsibility in customer projects every day, as well as everyone who prepared our conference presentation and helped shape it on-site.

Let’s keep the bugs grounded!

Thank you for your trust and for the connections we’ve made

The TestSolutions team would like to thank the organizer, Aviovis Group, for the award, and all participants for the open discussions.

We accept this award as both recognition and motivation: We want to continue supporting the digital transformation in aviation with robust quality assurance. After all, new ideas only realize their full potential when the systems behind them function reliably in everyday use.
